Lent at Shallowford

Beginning on Ash Wednesday and ending on Easter, Lent is a season of spiritual reflection and faithful discipline. This year, we will journey through the Gospel of John, encountering stories that invite us to follow Jesus to the cross and beyond. During these six weeks, we invite you to deepen your faith through meaningful worship, Sunday school, shared meals, and small groups for all.

All are invited to begin our Lenten journey together with the marking of ashes. We will reflect on the grace we receive and the humility we accept as we hear the words from Genesis: “you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Draw closer to God and fellow Shallowford members by joining a Lenten small group. Participants will gather for fellowship around food, then break into small groups for Bible study and discussion focused on the weekly worship theme.

Palm Sunday

As we celebrate Jesus entering Jerusalem, we will hear the sounds of the crowd welcoming him. Together, we will wave our palms and add our own voices to the rejoicing, singing and shouting “Hosanna!”

Maundy Thursday

Commemorate the Last Supper by attending a communion service at noon or joining us for dinner and communion in the evening.

Good Friday

An opportunity to pause and rest in the ultimate sacrifice Jesus Christ made for the sake of others. We will gather in the chapel for scripture, silence, and song.

Children’s Egg Hunt

April 4, 2026
10:00am, Great Hall

Three-year-olds through 5th graders are invited to Shallowford’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Join us for the telling of the Easter story, followed by age appropriate egg hunts. Bring your baskets and the whole family! *Rain or Shine

Easter Sunday

7:00 am, Sunrise Service (Ball Field)
We gather for an outdoor service to begin the celebration with communion and community. *Bring your own chair —rain or shine.

8:00-10:30 am, Breakfast (Great Hall)
Join us for a complimentary Easter breakfast — No RSVP required.

8:30 am, Early Worship (Chapel)
Celebrate the Good News of Easter with special music and celebration. 

11:00 am, Service for the Lord’s Day (Sanctuary & livestream)
